The Eight-tailed Serpent Dance
Ashinazuchi and Tenazuchi solicit the help of Susanowo-no-mikoto in preventing their last daughter, Kushiinada-hime, from being eaten by the eight-tailed serpent, as had her seven sisters before her. Susanowo-no-mikoto has Matsunowo-myôjin and Muro-myôjin make saké forces the great serpent to drink it, and then vanquishes him with the celebrated sword, Kusanagi.He then marries Kushiinada-hime.  |
