[Minato-gawa Shrine, Kôbe] Kusunoki Masashige's Grave This gravestone was erected on the twenty-first day of the twelfth lunar month, 1692, by Tokugawa Mitsukuni, 350 years after the death of Kusunoki Masashige (1294-1336). The eight characters on the front of the monument, "The grave of the loyal retainer, Kusunoki," were written by Mitsukuni himself in vermilion ink. |
